Dan Monson, Secretary

Branch manager/Mortgage banker, Sente Mortgage

I have been on the Board and associated with OCWH since 2021. Professionally, I’ve been a mortgage banker for over 25 years. I have been in the business that long because I truly believe that homeownership changes lives. My team and I at MortgageDan.com enjoy helping folks navigate the process to get a mortgage to buy a home. Some clients aren’t ready now, but we coach them on credit scores and savings so they can buy soon. In the last two years, we’ve closed loans from $58,000 to $2.85MM and each one was important. We’re proud to be putting people of all backgrounds into Texas homes.

My son and daughter are my pride and joy. They graduated from MHS and now attend Trinity University (TU). Attending TU as a student brought me to Texas from rural Minnesota, so I’m proud to have the kids at my alma mater. Volunteering locally started with the Memorial-Spring Branch Rotary where I’m a board member and past president. I attend and volunteer at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church, just across the OCWH parking lot. I’m an avid fan of the Twins, Astros, and Vikings. The Texans? I pray for them.

WHY DAN SERVES:

The amazing Jorge Quiñones brought me onto the board. It’s hard to match his passion and energy for the Outreach Center, but I promise to keep trying! I joined the board because I see so many amazing people around us who’ve made a choice to change their lives and just need a chance. With donor and volunteer support, OCWH tenant organizations provide that chance and souls are changed forever. It is an honor to help people fulfill their potential.
