“It has been an exciting summer at FamilyPoint. We connected with over 200 children in West Houston through our 15 summer enrichment programs. All of our summer programs were made successful by the commitment of over 150 volunteers from this community. They showed up each day willing to do more than just lead groups through activities. These volunteers surrounded each child with a transforming love as they listened to stories from children who are sometimes never heard, as they encouraged children who often do not believe in themselves, and as they invited children into lasting friendships, often for the first time. We are extremely grateful to all our volunteers as they help to shape FamilyPoint and our community in amazing ways.”
FamilyPoint gives a special thank you to the Egg & I, Ashford UMC, and Betsy Snapp, who brought breakfast to the five weeks of our Summer Reading Program at Outreach Center of West Houston. And, to Larry Maple who coordinated with Houston Parks & Rec to serve lunches at OCWH throughout the summer.
A special shout out to Mary Mouton, JJ Isbell, Samantha Weed, Rachel Williamson, and Maddie Wylie for designing and leading FamilyPoint’s Theater Camp at OCWH. And, to Jennifer Bradshaw who collected school supplies. And to the volunteers who made Sewing Camp possible: Jodie Stewart, Beth Shaw, Lynette Hruzek, Taryn Gray, Arcelia Leon, Sarah Tyler, Beth Longnecker, Ellie DiPaolo, and Pat McCutcheon.
Outreach Center of West Houston is proud to have FamilyPoint Rescources as one of its programs located at our location.
